What is Holi?
Holi is the festival of colors and happiness. it one of the important and famous festivals of India and Nepal which are celebrated now across the world First day of the festival Holika is burnt which is also known as “Holika Dahan” and the second day is also known as Dhulendi Or Dhur Khel on that day we throw color and children use gun color toys to throw color. We go to neighbor’s home apply color to elders and take their blessings and apply colors to younger ones with love and after this, we forget every misunderstanding and hug each other we bath after that wear new clothes and eat a lot of sweets.
When is Holi celebrated?
Holi is celebrated in the month of march end week which is also known as the Spring season in Hindi which is also known as Phalgun Where summer begins
Why is Holi celebrated?
There are many stories related to the Holi one famous among all is the story of Prahalad it is believed that there was an immortal demon known as Hiranyakshyapu. He had mighty powers in the ego of that he himself considered as the GOD. he even banned the chanting of god name in his Kingdom. Prahalad was the son of Hiranyakshyapu was the great devotee of god hearing that the demon Hiranyakshyapu punished so many times even though he didn’t leave chanting then Hiranyakshyapu had a sister Holika who had blessings that she won’t get burnt in the fire so Hiranyakshyapu ordered his sister to take Prahalad in lap and sit in the burning fire. After sitting in the fire the Holika got burnt and the Prahalad was saved. in the memory of devotee, Prahalad Holi is celebrated
